The Mission Canyon Crisis - Can Southern California Edison fix the damage and restore Mission Creek?

Join Santa Barbara Urban Creek Council for a live Zoom forum “The Mission Canyon Crisis – Can Southern California Edison fix the damage and restore Mission Creek?”

The forum will address the public safety and ecological restoration issues associated with SCE’s September 2019 grading of the Tunnel Trail. The grading resulted in the dumping of tons of rock and dirt into Mission Creek, burying the stream channel.

The live panel will include:

  • Marc Chytilo – Environmental Attorney
  • Brian Trautwein – Water Specialist, Environmental Defense Council
  • Scott Cooper – Aquatic Ecologist, UCSB
  • Shirin Tolle – Construction Engineer,  SBUCC

The Zoom link will allow public access to the forum. The public is encouraged to contact SBUCC for more details by emailing sbucc@silcom.com or visiting the website at www.sb-urbancreeks.org/events.
